Okay.
So we'll go on to the next slide.
All right.
So here are the different types of head spacing schemes that are used.
In the upper left is the shoulder headspace.
And most people pick that these days if they're doing rifle carpet.
Down below there on the left is a belt headspace.
And basically, there's a big, larger diameter boss that stops the cartridge case from being seated anywhere.
more deeply into the chamber.
On the upper right-hand side is a rim.
And that's typically used with revolvers or shotguns.
And then down at the bottom on the right-hand side is case mouth headspace.
And basically you've got a stop in the chamber that the cartridge case mouth fetches up on to limit how deeply the cartridge case can go into the chamber.
And so the headspace selection is really important.
in most cases, driven by considerations from the gun design itself.
I mean, how am I going to handle this thing?
How am I going to feed it?
Where do I stop it?
Is there an extractor?
Does the extractor limit the travel?
