And I can't โ€“ I'm trying to remember if I've ever seen that.

Like, I've been to Lake City, and I'm trying to remember if I saw what they do, and I'm drawing a blank.

Sorry.

You know why it's 78 feet, right?

Yeah.

So once upon a time, I worked on some pretty high medium-cal velocity ammunition.

The muzzle velocity was...

supposed to be 5,000 feet per second and we went through some pretty significant hoops comparing the muzzle velocity measurement scheme at the gun house versus the ammunition producer.

The ammunition producer was using magnetic coils.

The bullet was steel, so magnetic coil worked just fine.

But the separation between the coils was still, if I recall, 20 feet.

You needed to have that separation in order to get the resolution you needed to get the accuracy on the velocity.

And what the gun house ended up doing was putting five Ailer light screens in series and doing kind of a proof channel.

No, more of a we're going to fit the time displacement back to the muzzle.

and come up with a velocity that way.

Oh, okay.

And our error measurement was like under two feet a second.
