Oh, the pressures and velocities and loads on the bullet during that initial transition to the rifling are pretty small.
So I don't think it matters.

Um, yeah, my, my six, five Creedmoor Ruger precision rifle has got a very substantial free bore in it.
And, um, and it, I mean, I've shot some really tiny groups with that thing.

This is a five shot group at a hundred yards with that Ruger precision rifle with him, you know, and, and pretty happy with that.
Um, this is another on the same target five shot group with a six, five Creedmoor.
