I have to say it's crazy, but it's strangers.

And here's another thing that is common probably for a lot of people that the people closest to them don't understand.

You know, your family might be like, what are you doing?

Who are you to say that you're going to be owning a, you know, multimillion dollar home on Maui as a single woman?

Like what, you know, sometimes the family doesn't understand.

Some of my family members were supportive.

Others just didn't understand.

And then some people closest to me, my closest friends were like, you're going to do what?

So I felt I reached out online and found these informal support groups of people that are paying down the mortgage on social media.

And I got to say, they were the ones that kept me going.

I already had the mindset to be debt free.

It was always my lifestyle.

My family, my parents were also debt free growing up.

But when, you know, my life goes sideways in a divorce, I knew what I had to do, but it wasn't as lonely in the process.

You know, now I'm alone in life, and I felt that way, but I didn't feel alone in the process of building up, you know, paying off the mortgage.

And it was through those Facebook groups.
