Well, he knew what he was doing.
He absolutely knew what he was doing.
And still meet lots of absolutely fascinating people.
It's often the people you meet in the poorest and most difficult circumstances that are the most inspiring.
You meet around the place people that have been through hell in their lives and are still doing their best to give it back for other people.
And obviously that was devastating.
My mum died very suddenly, and I was in Parliament at the time, and the police came and asked me to come.
She'd had a brain haemorrhage, and that was terrible.
You lost a brother as well, didn't you?
And my brother, that was absolutely shocking.
He lived in Papua New Guinea.
He was a wonderful sort of humanitarian and narco-syndicalist sort of person.
