And also your body's working really hard to process all that carbohydrate.
But then what can happen is if there wasn't enough protein that meal, not enough fat, not enough fiber, you may find you wake up feeling ravenous, irritable, kind of just off a little bit later.
I call that sodium.
A salty meal.
That's definitely going to have that effect.
It can like a few things to think about in this case.
So one, you mentioned light.
That could look like if you're eating in front of the television close to night.
That's going to disrupt your body's levels of melatonin, and the brain's going to get kind of confused.
Like, I don't get it.
Is this daytime?
Is this nighttime?
Like, why are we around nighttime?
I don't know what's happening.
And then that can disrupt sleep.
Whether you have a hard time falling asleep or you fall asleep but then end up waking up, again, your body's confused about what time it is.
So that's one piece of the picture.
