Anyways, my point is, I get like, I'm not even disagreeing with the texture because it could be right.
We don't know exactly how GMs are going to react.
It's just that there's a world of difference in the total dollar commitment and the yearly salary commitment, obviously, between Elias Pettersson and the Michael McCarron deal.
I just don't know if there's a direct line we can draw between the two deals.
It's the kind of thing where it might be more true a couple years down the road.
And if we do start to see not just the bottom end get pushed up, like with the Michael McCarron deal, but when we start to see more high-end player contracts come in, and if all of a sudden there are a ton of guys making 12, 13, or whatever, then I could see Elias Patterson's deal...
Looking a lot more palatable, but I'm not sure guys signing for 3.3 instead of like 1.8 is going to change the math so much.
Things like that, I think would do would go a lot longer to changing how the league looks at Elias Pettersson's contract than than the low end guys.
Maybe Alex Tuck will do that.
You need like a 60-point center to sign for like...
Because then it's like, well, Elias Pettersson is basically that, but he could be more.
