Like people have to remember that this guy is so young.
This was his fifth career regular season start.
And it's a good thing that expectations are high.
The number one prospect for the Blue Jays.
He obviously was phenomenal in the postseason, but he's 22 and there are going to be bumps along the way.
And I wouldn't even categorize today as a bump.
Like he battled, he caught a break.
And what do good pitchers do and good athletes do?
They take advantage of the breaks.
And Trey Savage was able to do that today.
And we had an idea.
We actually pinpointed it and nailed it in the pregame.
where his pitch count was going to be when he got yanked.
We said between 80 and 85 pitches.
And what did he leave with 82 pitches on the day?
Yeah.
So you had an idea that he was going to have to be efficient to go pretty deep into this game.
And ultimately he wasn't quite efficient or as efficient as he has been in the past.
but that isn't a reason to worry about him.
There are some things that I'm looking at and saying, well, is the whiff percentage as high as maybe it should be?
