The confusion, the fear, and the echo of a door that never should have opened.
The Licking County Jail has seen everything from heartbreak to horror.
Every cell has a story, and the air itself feels thick with memory.
Whether it's the restless dead of solitary, the shadow in the woman's ward, or the echo of a boy who never made it home,
This building is a monument to the unfinished business of human souls.
And some nights, when the lights are out and the halls fall silent, it feels like the jail is still very much alive.
This show was about to be phenomenal if we had just left Dave out, but I guess he's here.
It was a really cool investigation.
Really cool to do at jail, but we'll talk a little bit more about that in a bit.
We also had a really cool thing happen before the investigation started.
Dave and I were talking to the caretaker of the Winslow house and we were just kind of going over things for the night.
And she was like, you know, just be careful and everything.
I'm like, don't worry if anyone breaks anything, I'll bury them in the yard.
And she goes, Oh, I was just making a joke.
She goes, Oh, they wouldn't be the first one buried in the yard.
And me and Dave were like, Oh,
go on is she told us this story of the Winslow House that we had never heard basically where one of the servants or slaves from years and years and years ago, obviously,
Was tried for killing her baby because they found it buried in the yard.
And within a six week span, they tried her, convicted her and hanged her in Plymouth.
So just that quick and we know that her name was Betty.
