The ads suggested that women who didn't douche were failing their husbands.
Absolutely.
But the ads kept running because shame sells.
And that's still the playbook.
The feminine hygiene industry is worth billions and it's all based on lies.
Wash the vulva with warm water and mild, unscented soap if you want.

Don't put any cleansers inside.
