I'm assuming you're suggesting that, right?
Okay, there's a cap, but there would be, I believe, some kind of phase-in.
It might only be a year that they would have a formula.
I forget in the NBA when they first instituted their cap, they had a soft cap, and then it eventually turned into a hard cap.
I don't know the details of how that all went down, but
my guess would be it would be something similar with some of these teams that are running this really, really high payroll.
There would be some kind of phase in to allow them to get below whatever the threshold is and probably not be willing or not be able to add as much as they normally would in a winter after that.
That type of thing would be my guess.
And so I think
Yeah, I will say this.
Some teams, I was aware they were making moves related to the potential work stoppage this past winter.
So they decided, you know, we don't want any major long-term financial commitments on players.
So we're not going to go give โ you know, we already have two players that are under control for six or seven years.
We're not going to do any more because of the uncertainty.
It did affect to some degree some of those teams.
They will never โ
publicly admit it, but I spoke to two gutter managers who told me that off the record.
So it did have some impact, and I think teams are trying to wrap their heads around it and try to plan for it as best they can.
Well, yeah, I mean, they find executives, you know, they threaten to find them for disclosing players on waivers, which, you know, when you talk about that, that's just the kind of inner workings of a trade deadline.
If you disclose that, they threaten to fine you with a $250,000 fine.
