I got a letter from a golfer on the LSU golf team.
He was a four-year player for them.
He wrote me a note that said he was coming out to the Pebble Beach area for something, and he said, I would be a dream of a lifetime if I could just hit one ball in your backyard.
I promise I won't even hit a second one.
I just need one shot.
So I looked him up.
He was legit.
He was a good player, all SEC.
And the date worked for me, and I wrote him back and said, absolutely, we can make this happen.
And obviously I wasn't going to hold him to one shot.
Anyway, he shows up at the appointed hour.
We march up to the tee.
He reminds me, he said, I told you I'm only hitting one shot, and that's my intention.
And he stood over the shot, and he knocked it in the hole.
He did.
I cannot make it up.
All I want is one shot.
He got up to the tee.
He knocked it in the cup.
And I said, hey, dude, I want you to know you are going to get as many as you want.
