Yeah.
Can we talk a little bit about Trump and the States?
I was speaking at an event today and I was asked a question about the impact that the midterm elections might or might not have on Trump's behaviour, particularly politically.
vis-a-vis the Iranian war.
And I don't know what the answer to that is.
If you look at both sides of that war situation, I don't think the Iranians have any interest in ending it because they don't care if hundreds of thousands of their citizens get killed anyway because they've been doing it themselves over the last few years, the regime.
So I think the Iranians have very little interest in ending this.
But from Trump's perspective...
OK, his ratings are at record lows at the moment.
So at a national level, he's extremely unpopular.
But his grip on the Republican Party seems to be getting tighter and tighter, the latest being the Texas primary, basically, for the House, or the Republican Senate runoff, in fact.
This guy, Ken Paxton, who was Trump's
Guy has defeated a four-time incumbent, John Cornyn.
And so this is another Trump person in situ within the Republican Party.
There's no guarantee he'll win that seat because apparently the Democrat is very well-funded and apparently Paxton can be characterized by a huge whiff of scandal on an ongoing basis.
But at one level,
you know well where i'm trying to go here chris is i haven't a bloody clue what trump's attitude towards the midterms he is in control of the republican party i think still very much does he care if he gets slaughtered in the midterms or not he probably wouldn't want to obviously and it could make the last two years of his presidency very difficult but uh
Yeah, he is.
There's a story out of New York this week that I found kind of fascinating, Mamdami, the
Governor, he is setting up the first publicly owned food shop in New York.
