Andy Burnham arrived in London today.
Of course, he is not an MP, so he can't become prime minister.
So how do you interpret it all?
Total mess.
Yeah, Chris, here in Ireland, I look across the political spectrum and it doesn't fill me with enthusiasm in terms of the quality of our politicians.
But I'm close enough to it here, so I'd have a reasonable understanding here.
Whereas in the UK, there's nobody in the Labour Party that I know anything about, really, that's of any consequence.
I mean, you think back to when Tony Blair was in power, you had people, love them or hate them, but you had Gordon Brown.
You know, you had Robin Cook, you had people like that.
There were people of substance from a political perspective.
There doesn't seem to be anybody at all in the Labour Party.
So maybe Stormer will be forced to step down over the coming days.
He will be replaced by a non-entity.
that non-entity will fail again.
Nothing will change.
Andy Burnham, through some mechanism, might get to stand in a by-election and become an MP and then become prime minister in another year or so.
Burnham is anything I see or read about him, he doesn't fill me with enthusiasm either, I have to say.
So it's a very, very depressing situation.
And then Nigel Farage waiting in the wings.
Seriously, Chris, if Nigel Farage became prime minister, what would you expect?
