And somebody commented on Spotify, listen, these measures are not going to change anything fundamentally for Ireland.

They bloody well are.

750 million is a lot of money.

It has massive implications for the budget that will be delivered on October 6th.

And you see, the point, of course, is we have no idea how long this is going to last.

And in fact, the 10 cent cut in...

the liter of petrol and diesel that we saw announced on Sunday, already global oil prices have negated that cut.

So do we turn around next weekend and deliver another package of 250 million or whatever?

I mean, this thing could be infinite.

You have created a precedent that I think is going to make governance of the country incredibly difficult.

And you think about in the budget last October,

taxpayers got absolutely nothing in that budget.

In fact, we all ended up slightly worse off because of the non-indexation of the various credits and tax bans.

So inflation, you know, made us in real terms worse off.

And suddenly you have government throwing all of this money at

at a pretty limited part of the economy, you know, at businesses, at farmers and so on.

And it was kind of strange.

Somebody threw in a comment on Spotify that as somebody who comes from a farming background, surely I can understand what's going on here.

Well, what I understand is that it is a very difficult environment.

It's a difficult environment for everybody, for individuals, for businesses, for farmers, for transporters, you name it.
