It never occurred to me that you could get a job as a writer on Late Night.

I thought those are the writers on the show and that's how it goes.

And had I – had anyone ever stopped me and said, you know, maybe you should submit.

I mean you could write something and maybe the – that's probably the path I would have taken.

But it never occurred to me.

I was not a bright kid.

I wanted to be an artist.

That was my goal.

I'm good at drawing.

And at school, that's kind of what I was known for.

And it just seemed to be what I would do.

Every one of my family thought that is what I would do.

And I thought that's what I would do.

But I read a Playboy magazine article.
