Okay, so this is actually also an older book, but it's called The Gilda Stories by Jewel Gomez.
It was released in the 90s and it's a vampire book and it kind of goes from like the 1850s all the way into like 2050 after like environmental collapse has like destroyed the world.
Oh my god.
And you follow this vampire woman who is like trying to figure out
why she's alive honestly like her purpose in life um and then also like it deals with kind of um a theme of exchange so like vampires take people's life force through their blood but then also they have to give something back in this um to the victims and they kind of like have this like mental link with them symbiotic relationship yeah and then like you can kind of apply that
