Who's going to be handling the machinery of government?

What's his policy plans going to be?

Lots of unanswered questions today.

I think that Andy Burnham

is expected to lead a government that's perhaps more to the left than we saw under Keir Starmer, perhaps loosening borrowing rules, perhaps taxing and spending more.

We'll have to wait and see.

We'll see who he appoints as chancellor, a very important decision for markets.

Investors are watching that very closely.

We had Rachel Reeves currently in post, very disciplined with her management of the public finances.

Will Burnham select someone of a similar ilk or someone who might, as I say, borrow and spend more?

It's a key question that markets are watching.
