And a lot of people have said today, you know, I heard Pat's bland saying,

you know like no one took any notice of Michael or that's because the man had no ego and I suspect that's true but also he had the good kind of

you know, craft to understand his role with these pundits.

But it can't be good in spite of a presenter.

It just can't be.

And so the fact it was really good is in large part because he really let them go at it, you know.

So, you know, it was deadly.

And to your more general point, Conor, what you said there, I totally agree with.

Well, the more simple studio is one.

But in modern TV, there is just an emphasis on how, you know, we've got to get to the next clip of analysis.

So you like every pre-match is like 10 or 15 analysis clips and post-match is like lots of analysis clips and halftime analysis clips.

And actually, unless those analysis clips are really, really good, they're a waste of time, just let them chat.

You know, I think sometimes you forget after a match, or even at halftime, we've actually just seen the game.

You don't need to show loads of it again.

Just let them just go.

And what did you think of it?

Just chat.

Because sometimes if you watch a lot of halftimes now and just watch this and you'll see it, you can come back from halftime and because of time pressures with ad revenues and everything else, presenter goes to first.

pundit and this goal or this score or this thing next pundit and what about this red card and third pundit what about this score and then it's the second half starting and it's like I don't know what any of them thought about the game I know what they thought about that one incident
