I'm not at all ashamed of what I was saying at the beginning of the year.
I will own it.
And let's not forget this, too.
That it wasn't just the talking heads and the national media or the international media, if you want to include Canada.
That was talking about the Penguins' demise.
It was Sid's agent himself, Pat Brisson, who rekindled talk of, man, if Sid's ever going to get to the playoffs, he's going to have to go elsewhere.
Now, Brisson didn't say it in those words, but he sure as hell intimated that at the beginning of the year.
He rekindled that kind of talk, and he sure didn't sound hopeful.
I don't think Sid himself sounded very hopeful when he responded to Brisson's comments.
And downplayed them.
It was everybody.
It was everybody.
Wondering what were we going to see here.
I don't think a hundred point team.
I think if you injected everybody with truth serum.
Who lives in the city.
And lives in that locker room.
