And that's the other thing about all this is it's really unprecedented in sports history.
Maybe those Yankee teams, I think, were the other ones that had guys that had played together for like 20 years, like Rivera and Jeter and whoever else was involved with all that.
You just don't see this.
This is not guys limping to the finish line near 40 who have played together for 20 years.
It's guys leading a playoff, a run to the playoffs.
And God, that goal was great.
And it just symbolized the season to me and their careers in a way to me.
It was Sid just staying at it, staying at it, then trying to bank the puck off the goalie, and then in comes a jubilant Geno, like a 10-year-old kid, jumping into the fray and scoring, and that man just described it perfectly.
And then those two meeting in the corner for cackles and hugs.
I mean, what a goal, what a scene.
There's a picture that was, I think the Penguins posted or somebody posted, it was a great one, where
You just see Sid and Gino smiling, looking at each other after they combined for that goal.
Great play by Crosby in front of the net that got denied.
Malkin right there to jump on the rebound.
And just the elation in each other's faces as Ryan was putting it.
It looked like they were back to being 20 years old again, playing with each other.
