France's interior minister says thieves have stolen several pieces of priceless jewelry.
The robbery happened when the museum opened today.
French media say the thieves entered from the riverside of the Louvre, where construction is underway, using a crane to smash an upstairs window to gain access to the gallery they targeted.
They're said to have stolen jewelry from the Napoleon Collection.
Officials say at least one piece has been recovered.
