Great to be on the show with New Zealand Broadcaster of the Year.

What an honour and privilege.

Well, I don't think it's a matter of him breaking the partnership with Jamie Joseph.

He hasn't been coaching with Jamie now for two and a half years.

Obviously, he's been over with the South African Springboks, coaching their house down over there.

And I think it's a masterstroke by New Zealand rugby bringing back arguably one of our most innovative and creative coaches from

outside of New Zealand, back into New Zealand rugby, to be able to get this coup this early, I think it's huge news.

Regardless of who the head coach is going to be post Rugby World Cup, knowing Tony, he'll be able to work with anyone.

Obviously, he's worked very, very closely with Jamie Joseph in the past, and

Whether Jamie Joseph puts his name in the hat post-Rugby World Cup when Dave Rennie is off contract, that's, I suppose, a discussion for Jamie Joseph for him to consider.

But, yeah, look, I just think it's a magnificent appointment, first and foremost.

So kudos to the New Zealand Rugby Union for pulling trigger in the words of the great Tony Brown early.

Um, Tony Brown has been a head coach before for Otago and here he was the head coach for the Hollanders.

I think we're in 2017 when I was there.

Um, I think Tony will be the first to admit that he prefers being an assistant coach.

And the reason for that Heather is he likes to be on the grass.

He likes to be in control of a, of a portfolio, which is generally, um, the attack, which would be like, um, launches off line out and scrum.

uh, counterattack and just getting his hands, his hands dirty rather than dealing with, uh, the politics or the, uh, the bigger picture stuff and probably dealing with, um, the media, et cetera.
