I mean, you know, that's I don't know about you, but if you grew up in the 80s, you know,
Our parents used to just tell us, go outside.
Go outside and we'll see you at dark.
And I could go, I was, I don't know, 10, nine, riding my bike all over Seymour, which is where I grew up.
And just nobody kept an eye on us.
It was funny, they had to remind us that
remind our parents that you have kids, there was a thing that said, it's 10 o'clock.
Do you know where your children are?
I remember somebody in my neighborhood, I would hear every night at dark, Henry!
And I'd hear it and go, I better go home.
If it's time for Henry Earl to go home, I better get home.
How long had you been performing by then?
Oh, I was in my first band when I was 11.
You know, a little garage band with a bunch of kids playing along with records.
And then I was in a band called The Crepe Soul.
Think about this, Joe.
I was 14 years old playing in bars.
