He sounded like he was a New York mobster.
That's true.
In a radio age, you can imagine Midwesterners listen to that and say, well, I'm not going to vote for this guy.
Hoover, it wasn't a terrible voice.
I was wrong.
But it was very boring.
He was not much of a public speaker.
