I think I've spoken to him once or twice on the phone in relation to his pub trade.

But he certainly gives the impression of being fairly down-to-earth, a hands-on kind of businessman.

You can read stories online of people arriving at some of his pubs, and sometimes he'll be there greeting people at the door.

So he's hands-on and has probably a good reputation like that.

But at the same time, he's...

of an era where he really came of his business age or his business empire in the 90s and 2000s.

And it was a time when there was a lot going on in Ireland in terms of a whole lot of issues as the country was accelerating its economic growth.

But he moved in certain circles, of course, as well.

He knew Bertie Ahern.

He was one of the people, the businessmen, who helped Bertie Ahern dig out back in the 90s, providing him with a small amount of cash.

So he moved in these circles.

In 2008, attended a pretty lavish wedding in Adair, which was Charlie Chalk's eldest daughter was getting married.

So Bertie O'Hearn was at Bath.

It was a well-known guest.

It was a fortune spent on the wedding.

So he moved in the kind of circles that we don't.

Despite his kind of down-to-earth persona and whatever, he did move in those kind of circles that other people don't.

Yeah, so there's a number of the children are involved in managing the hubs that he has in the group.

So you'd imagine, as is natural in these kind of family affairs, that obviously it's more than likely that they'll move into being controlled and eventually owned by family members.
