There was an expectation.
I always felt like the jam bands were so different from each other that it never really fit as a description other than there was an expectation of a very long solo.

You know, we're doing a show with the Spin Doctors on the 13th of October in Porchester, and everyone's talking about the famous spinning traveler Segway.
which is where we segue into, you know, from one band to the other.
We used to do this all the time.
It was a very commonplace thing to do.
And everyone's talking about how miraculous and great it was.
And I'm thinking as the guy who's doing it, you know, what we did is we just sort of jammed in a key and all throbbed together and then we would disappear and they would stay up or vice versa.
And the song would continue.
And the reason that they seem so great in such a sacred moment is that everyone was high as a motherfucker and they're on LSD.
And now we're going to do it again.
Everyone's going to be like, oh, Santa Claus is just this old man they're shoving down a chimney.
And if you really saw an old man being shoved down a chimney, it's nothing you really want to see.
They're going to be on like a five-hour energy shot and a fresca going, what the fuck is this?
The key of this segue will be that there has to be really good drugs.
