681: The Price of Your Nightmares

This is a disappointing technical thing, but it's not because Apple is being mean to you or being cheap.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

I just think they didn't have a way to do this because this was never designed to be a Mac chip.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

And people think that manifests like, oh, it was never designed to be a Mac chip.

Accidental Tech Podcast

It's performance will be bad.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

It's not the performance.

Accidental Tech Podcast

It's stuff like this.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

Like how many ports can you support?

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

How many external displays?

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

The speakers are side firing and they're towards the front.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

Yeah, I wonder if the side-firing speakers, because if you're going to save money on the speakers, maybe use fewer speakers, lower quality speakers, but having them be side-firing and towards you to sort of bounce off the surface, I feel like the placement is very intentional to essentially make the speakers sound better.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

If we're going to use these speakers and we're going to put them in this laptop, actually shooting them out of the sides from the front

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

is the best way to do it.

Accidental Tech Podcast
681: The Price of Your Nightmares

Because if we had put them, like, facing up and bouncing off the screen or whatever, they wouldn't sound as good.
