That's what I didn't understand by the end of the movie.

So I think the math behind that is in a couple of the games, especially recently, they kill all these people and they come back as revenants, right?

They come back as undead versions of themselves fighting for Shinnok or Shang Tsung or evil, whatever.

And then in the latest version, you're talking about Kung Lao or Liu Kang in terms of both of them.

Because one of the screenwriters of the movie actually set this for Mortal Kombat 3.

And so, spoilers for the next Mortal Kombat.

Fingers crossed they make a new one.

In Mortal Kombat 1, the second reboot, they reboot the world.

Literally, Liu Kang is a god, essentially.

And he remakes the world.

And not in his image particularly, but in a way that the good guys can still fight against evil and hopefully win.

Yeah.

Exactly, right?

Where they send Raiden's memories back to him in the past, and so he can hopefully help save the world.

So he's probably going to go back, try to save Liu Kang or Kung Lao from the revenants, whatever, and then ascend to being God Liu Kang, Fire God Liu Kang.

Interesting.
