Because if they want to cast a young-ish Professor X in his, like, what, 40s, 50s?

But Magneto is a character.

It's like our understanding from him.

And then I agree with you on a fundamental level, but our understanding of that character is so tied to World War II, him being Jewish, the concentration camps, how that molded just his worldview.

It's not as easy to me as like putting Tony Stark in Afghanistan.

And he has to be a contemporary of Charles.

But I will also say, my last thought on this is like, I think even Professor X,

After Patrick Stewart, because he has such a gravitas in culture, in nerd culture especially, he's just like this grandfather figure.

To me, the Fox version of Professor X was always perfect.

Not like always perfect, but was a level of just like, this is the grandfather you love, where the Professor X from the comics

is way more morally gray.

Yeah, he's damn near a villain half the time and I'm just like, is it more interesting if you wait on Magneto because it gives Professor X a chance to be more of like an anti-hero and more complicated than he ever was in the Fox films?
