What I found wasn't just blank footage.

It was like the camera had never been there.

No birds, no wind in the trees, no critters.

No images of me unlocking the door or walking past, just motionless still frames.

IOS of them, but the log signed again, K-Hall 842A, MK-Hall 906A.

And when I finally called Dale, Dale told him something weird was happening, that someone might be tampering with the shade of the logs.

His response, probably some local screwing around, changed the lock, if it bothers you, that was it.

So I did.

Bought a new padlock the next day from a hardware store out in Dry Branch.

Made sure it was sturdy.

Only two keys existed, mine and the backup that went straight into the lockbox at the main station 20 miles out.

Nobody else.

Next morning, I pull up and something's already wrong.

The lock is different.

Like, totally different.

Not just tampered with, replaced.

It was now one of those keypad locks with no keyhole.

I didn't own one.

I didn't install it.

And I know for a fact Dale wouldn't have driven out in the middle of the night just to swap hardware.
