They are almost expected to fail.

I mean, I think the crux of the question here is whether this was bad defending or intentional non-defending.
I think there's a difference there.
Like, is this a failure of defending or is this... Because everyone knows about the attacking talent on the pitch and both teams are aware that that's their strengths.
So is this both teams just trying to play to their strengths or do they do it badly?
And I think it's a bit of both.
