to say that the blue jays would be 10 and a half games behind the rays at any point for any reason this season is already a strange thing to accept and yet uh they're not alone i mean baltimore and boston are having a really bad time and the houston astros are having a i know they just swept the cubs they're having a really bad time the royals at the tigers oh my god the
postseason team from last year, they're having a really bad time.
So all these AL teams are kind of comparing their struggles to each other.
But Toronto's one that it feels like with them, they haven't really, I've said this on our podcast before.
It feels like certain teams have kind of taken turns being like the laughing stock of the league because they lose seven or eight or nine games in a row.
It doesn't seem like the Blue Jays have really gotten to that point.
yet, and so the spotlight hasn't fully shifted on them compared to, say, the Orioles or the Red Sox or the Tigers.
But that doesn't mean that I think where they're at right now is not disappointing because of, of course, what happened last season.
14, 14 case.
The angels, like they're really bad and will always be really bad until they prove us otherwise, because they are the last team and franchise that deserves the benefit of the doubt.

I mean, Detmers has been teasing us for a long time, but Soriano.
And if you've watched any Walbert Urania, he's basically just doing like an early career, Jose Soriano impression.
So yeah,
They have some talent, but like I said, just from an infrastructure basis, you're never going to count on them, which in a weird way, I'm going to spin back to Toronto, which is the Jays are in a weird place where they earn so much goodwill with their performance and also so much about like the infrastructure and the process and the coaching and the front office and like so much of what happened last year made us want to trust the Blue Jays.
coming into this season in a real way.
Not that they were guaranteed to get back to the World Series, but it was like, okay, this is a good organization.
They are spending money there, have good players.
And as we know, injuries have just made it really difficult for them to really find any sort of momentum this season.
I mean, look, the cop-out answer is, I know we've been talking around injuries and this is relevant for every team, but for Cease and Vlad in particular, guys who have essentially never been injured, I can't even really process what it would be like for them to be out for any amount of time.
