in the sense that some of the top prospects are at non-premier positions, you know, such as linebacker and running back, of course, with Jeremiah Love and safety with Caleb Downs.
To me, there's only a handful, probably less than 10 of like true blue chip players in this year's draft class, which, you know, we equate to all pro caliber.
So are you really going to take
you know, a player, a lesser player at a premium position over, you know, one of those all pro caliber players.
I think that's kind of the decision that teams are weighing right now.
And if, if it were me as a general manager with, you know, a job on the line, I think I would be more comfortable taking a better player at, you know, a position that is still going to impact the game.
I mean, we've seen what Nicky Manwari and Jeremiah Lowe or Kyle Hamilton have done rather safety position and, and,
You know, if you drop a running back into the right situation, that's an impact player that can change the dynamic of a game too.
So, you know, it's not something that we see very often, but I think in this draft specifically, it makes a lot of sense for those non-premium positions to go early.
I mean, there's definitely some guys that could transition to guard.
I mean, you know, there's a case to be made that perhaps guard is the better position for somebody like Francis Malinoa or Spencer Fano.
But at the same time, I think they have the footwork, the requisite play strength to hold up a tackle.
So if that's a need for you, I tend to fall into the camp of don't move this player unless
you just don't have a need at the position or they force your hand.
Uh, I think you give them an opportunity to fail a tackle before you move them to a different position.
So for a Spencer Fondo, who I think is still offensive lineman, number one for me, um,
I would still try him at offensive tackle.
I know he does not have 33 inch arms, less than ideal length, but you know, this is a player that has great feet.
He's able to kind of minimize some of those issues on the edge with that foot quickness and he's got the play strength.
So he could play all five positions, but if you're a tackle needy team, I would certainly give him that opportunity.
