Now, I've seen so much commentary online about how hard it is for gay men to have children and how lengthy the process is, and trust me, I know.

But also, and maybe this is a little controversial for me, but...

If you're about to become a first-time parent to not one, but two children, in my opinion, that needs to be your sole priority at that point in your life, while keeping your life as stable as possible for the sake of those two children.

rather than, you know, deciding to take a long hiatus from work, go marry a stranger days before the first one is due, and committing yourself to minimum two months of intense filming, long days, and then public scrutiny for at least the next six months until the show is edited, airs, finishes, and people watch and respond.

Like all of that in itself, as we all know from previous cast members on previous seasons, is a lot for anyone to deal with mentally.

And it does, as we all know, throw cast members' lives into chaos and confusion for at least six months as they navigate so many new extremes all at once.

So now, and again, my opinion as my podcast, Chris then saying yes to married at first sight when he was phoned up about two weeks before his wedding and asked, do you want to be an intruder?

Knowing all of this was on his horizon, him then going, yeah, I think that was a stupid decision.

And if you ask me, producers purposely choosing Chris out of the thousands of other gay men who applied and didn't have two children on the way,

I think that just wasn't fair.

It wasn't fair to Sam.

It wasn't fair to viewers who have been asking for a gay love story for so long.

And it wasn't fair to the gay community who just want to be reflected positively with an easy, normal relationship without bombshells and drama.

But it wasn't this revelation that marked the end for Chris and Sam, because in all honesty, they were already on the road to nowhere, which they knew.

And that's not even factoring in the things I've since found out.

Now, before I get too far ahead and, you know, go into what actually caused Chris and Sam to split up, let's just stick to the timeline here.

Because as they were both coming to terms with this baby bombshell and filming those scenes in Sydney's Zetland, where the cast lived during production...

In South Sydney, at the same time, two other gay men had just found themselves unexpectedly crossing paths in ways they never expected.

Because the guy that Chris had been seeing for those few months before the show and then ghosted to go and get married, he decided that week, hey, I'm going to get back out there and I'm going to download hookup app Grindr.

And as this guy who I'm going to call Will because I know from his friend, he doesn't want to be like named and ID publicly as he's quite private.
