I was singularly focused on one thing. I wanted to be on Saturday Night Live. That's all I wanted. In my fucking fragile little brain, I somehow thought going to Carnegie Mellon drama was enough to audition and be accepted. I'm not sure what I was thinking, but I started immediately out of college. putting together a reel for SNL. I got Ron Howard to open the video. He said, live from Josh's VCR.

I had met my then girlfriend, now wife, Ida, and I was like, I need to become a lawyer. So I started applying to law schools. My mom, as you know already, basically is like, you're a fucking coward if you do that. I audition for this show called 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. And I get it, but I got the San Francisco...
