Not being, you know, the Geelong that they played in opening round, and they beat them by 10 goals, and the hysteria and the hype that we'd had all off-season around Gold Coast after their finals win.
I'm not certain...
Dealing with that for 23, 24 weeks and then a month of September would have been a good thing for a club trying to chase history.
It's a big thing for Fremantle, who might be a little more mature in some aspects.
Fremantle have got to handle it now all year that they are a premiership contender, almost from opening round all the way to maybe prelim or grand final weekend.
Now, I'm not saying they can't handle that.
I'm not suggesting that at all.
But I think Gold Coast can work into this season in a different aspect now.
These last two wins have been workmanlike.
They got challenged a little bit early in that
Second quarter last week against the Giants.
And in the end, won it relatively comfortably.
Again last night, different set of challenges on the back foot.
St Kilda got a bunch of injuries.
Totally understand that.
Naz didn't play.
Wilkie and that knee that would have probably killed me.
But the fact is that now Gold Coast can build into this season.
And they're not going to have... There's going to be more pressure on the Fremantles, the Sydney's of the world, who are trying to chase this.
And they can almost work their way through it.
