because of his kick returns and and not only that like his ball playing ability that year was great but he saved so many tries that year on our goal line as well like there i think there was one against we played the warriors and i don't know how he managed to save it i think it was a big front row trying to crash over but he was over the back of him and got flipped over and just managed to get his hand underneath it

And we won that game off the back of his defence.

He was just a phenomenal talent.

And that year, I don't think anyone saw that coming.

But me and him struck up a partnership that year as well.

I reckon I scored probably 15 tries off him that year.

We went into Origin camp after that.

I'm like, that's a high tackle.

Like, to start with, his fitness levels probably weren't there.

But, like, under Dez, like, Dez got everyone fit and –

off the back of that, he was able to do some amazing things.

And like a lot of the blokes there, like Sam Cassiano, Greg Eastwood, Frankie Pritchard, like some of those blokes, they were probably the fittest they'd ever been.

And like the footy they played that year was amazing as well.

So that was another enjoyable year.
