The following month, the family moved into a house that Rusty had bought in the Clear Lake area while Andrea was hospitalized.

And after moving into the house near Rusty's NASA job, Andrea's health seemed to have improved.

And when the school year started, Andrea decided to homeschool her eldest, Noah.

And by the following January, she told Dr. Starbranch that she had stopped taking her prescribed medication back in November.

After a year of being off her medications, Andrea gave birth to her fifth and final child, Mary, in November 2000.

They had ignored the written warning from a doctor that stated that having another child would quote, "...surely guarantee future psychotic depression."

And according to Rusty, they justified having another child because even though Andrea suffered greatly after having Luke, they were still happy to have had Luke.

So I think they're kind of weighing the pros and cons.

Like, yeah, it was a rough time, but we got our son out of it.

And that's a tough place to be, right?

Because you definitely kind of start thinking about that.

Anybody who's gone through the process of having a child, that's definitely something you weigh.

You're like,

that was really fucking hard.

This whole, it's not easy.

It doesn't matter who you are.

And so that's definitely something that crosses everybody's mind.
