And it's like,
those people are making themselves main characters in their life.
They've presented their life almost like a fairy tale.
They don't show the shit.
You buy into that.
So then when you go dating now, if you don't have that big moment, that big dopamine thing, and you're just like, oh, that's a nice guy.
A lot of people don't give it a chance because they want to start with that feeling
Huge story.
Like fireworks.
And Dr. Portland, she said this thing of like, she has interviewed literally hundreds of women and they all want this like, oh, well, we didn't meet on a date and that we met, you know, like I was walking in the park and his dog ran at me and jumped on me.
Then he was pulled the dog back and we fell in love or, you know, I crashed my car and he pulled over and said, are you okay?
Like everyone she spoke to is waiting for that.
And then when they just meet a regular guy and it's like, you're right.
I saw it was a bit late.
They're like, this is not the story.
I'm not going to tell this to the grandkids.
And they just don't try.
And like, I imagine Mel, if she just spoke to Luke and Hinge, arranged the date, and he was 20 minutes late, she wouldn't even be with him now.
But obviously it's math, so she has to at least try.
