However, last week, the woman filed a lawsuit requesting that the payments remain in place.

Yep.

Citing financial reliance and the administrative continuity and what her filing describes as good faith receipt of funds.

Because she basically doesn't want to stop receiving child support because they probably can't track down the other dude.

Yeah.

We're talking about a guy who's making national headlines because his wages were garnished for child support for a kid that isn't his, that lives in a different state that he's never met.

And the woman is now suing him, saying that she doesn't want the payments to stop, even though she knows the kid isn't his.

Her attorney argued that while the identity error is unfortunate, the child has been supported for three years under a lawful court order, and a sudden stop in payments could negatively impact the household.

What?

What?

A lawyer actually took this case, first of all.

And the lack of support would just perpetuate another absent father in the child's life and would re-traumatize the mother who has become dependent on the money because it would be another man leaving her empty handed.
