Like if you are the Rangers, you want that.

You're trading a really effective, yes, Trochek is 32, but he's got 12 goals.

And most importantly, he's got three years left on a contract that carries a cap per an AAV of $5.6 million.

With today's cap, that's a freaking bargain.

And he's not a true one, but he definitely is a huge upgrade.

If you have a star player or a really good, effective player, teams have nothing to lose unless it's a guy who's going to be to hit free agency July 1st.

They have nothing to lose by trying to wait.

So, and you know, if it's a guy who's going to be unrestricted, yeah, that's different.

But Trocek, again, has three years left.
