This expansion into big box retail follows mixed results from Amazon's previous physical store ventures.

The e-commerce giant has closed dozens of branded stores and more than half its Amazon Go convenience stores.

Under the Digital Networks Act, the European Union's executive branch said it would introduce a mandatory phase-out of copper networks for EU member states and a transition to advanced networks, or spectrum, between 2030 and 2035.

The EU tech commissioner said in a statement that robust digital infrastructure is crucial for Europe's innovation and competitiveness.

The legislation still needs approval from member states and the European Parliament before it can take effect.

That's according to people familiar with the matter.

The round now more than doubles its valuation.

It was led by venture capital firm IVP and Alphabet's Independent Growth Fund, with participation from NVIDIA, which is investing $150 million into the company.

The deal highlights NVIDIA's push into startups focused on inference, that's the process of AI models generating output in response to prompts.

It's also the latest example of NVIDIA investing in a customer of its own AI chips.
