Iran situation is still very much a live situation.
I mean, we talk about the ceasefire, even though President Trump has described it as being in a very fragile state.
Ultimately, the Strait of Hormuz is still effectively closed.
China so far have not played an active role in either military operations or in diplomacy.
But in the past couple of weeks, they seem to be flexing a bit more muscle.
And the expectation is that China will call for de-escalation.
And the tech industry is running wild.
You know, they've gotten what they wanted and they've seen a huge run up in their stock prices.
He also went on to describe the Iranian counterproposal as a, quote, piece of garbage.
Probably, you know, a bit of an exaggeration there.
But at the same time, he also seemed to insinuate that the Iranians are planning on handing over the nuclear dust.
That is, of course, we've not heard any indication from the Iranian side that that is the case.
But then he went on to say that a diplomatic solution is still in sight.
So multiple different narratives coming out from President Trump during the course of that press conference yesterday.
There is a strong push from the U.S.
side to get a deal across the line, but we are still in this period where we're waiting to hear back from the Iranians officially about the 14-point, one-page proposal that the U.S.
has put forward.
As you were reporting earlier in the week, some of the demands that the U.S.
have put on that paper are deemed to be quite maximalist from Iran's standpoint.
So it is unclear at this point whether there can be some form of a compromise and indeed whether you can get to a compromise over a 30-day period.
