Again, it goes back to like maximizing wins, right?
Like I think you saw from Chapman last year of this guy's coming in and the highest leverage situation in the game, no matter whether it's the eighth inning or the ninth inning, or like you have to give yourself the best chance to win with that kind of best weapon that you have.
So yeah, for me, again, I don't think there's like set traditional rules, but it's understanding what part of the game we're at and who's the best available option for that time to make sure we have the best chance of winning this baseball game.
Yeah.
And that's why you want as many of those guys as possible, right?
Like, I think we saw some progression this last year from Greg Weiser, where he could be, he,
dosed in those kind of situations a little bit more obviously Whitlock had an incredible year um Slayton before the injury like was again we just had a depth of those leverage guys so you could play the pockets you could play the situation a little bit because and you didn't have to burn Chapman too early because you had other guys to support him there
Um, the easy one to say is Valera.
Um, obviously that's a big time arm.
I think he's shown some huge growth, um, this last two years and his ability to command the baseball.
And he's still what, 19 years old.
Like he's still a baby.
Like he doesn't even have his man muscle yet.
So like, obviously that's an easy one, easy one to say, cause he throws a hundred, he's got a unique fastball, but from a development standpoint, like he's still got a lot of meat left on the bone, which is pretty exciting.
for you like do you watch that guy because this you know he's at the top of mind for everybody right now and do you say oh wow that's a really really interesting case study yeah like obviously like again one of the best in the world um he's very intentional with how he's thought about things and how he acts thing or acts about acts on doing things um
But what he does so great and so differently than most is not necessarily something you want to push across an entire organization or with other players because they have their own way of being intentional.
in the areas that they think are important.
So like, again, you look at his long toss in that video that you did post, it's like, okay, that guy's really intentional about what he's doing and maximizing what he's trying to feel or the flight trajectory of the ball to make sure like the real versus feel is lining up.
But that doesn't mean that's what Garrett Crochet needs to do.
Garrett Crochet's superpower, what he does really well from an intentionality standpoint, could be the pregame stuff he's doing and the advanced stuff.
