They either didn't go to college or had their parents pay their tuition, so I feel like they don't fully understand how restrictive student loans are. I don't want it to seem like I understand their full financial situation because I don't, but they made negative comments about mutual friends who work a lot of overtime to pay their loans off. I feel like I just have different goals. Is it dramatic to find new friends over this? Friends who are more willing to stay in and be frugal? Yeah, I think it is a great test of the friendship to be fully honest. And a real friend would say, oh, of course, I'd love to come over and hang out at your place. We should go to the park. We should do that. And they'll make an effort to still spend time with you. And meet you where you're comfortable.
