Israel has issued mass displacement orders across an area of south Lebanon, accounting for more than one-eighth of the country's landmass as it intensifies its campaign against Hezbollah.

Alabama is asking the U.S.

Supreme Court to allow it to use a congressional map that favors Republicans in this year's elections.

The state filed an emergency appeal Wednesday, a day after a lower court's ruling that the map intentionally discriminates against black people.

The appeal is the latest developments following last month's Supreme Court's ruling that weakened the landmark Voting Rights Act amid a broader push by President Trump to preserve the Republican House majority.
