I think it took Alex by surprise.
It was a difficult game for different reasons.
The organization of the opponent and the way we played in the first half made it a bit tricky for us as well, because the distances between the lines were just too big, we were too early with the long balls in behind because there was not really a second play around,
getting the ball immediately was a 1-1 situation, 1-2 situation.
It was not exactly like we wanted it to be, we didn't use the spaces between the airlines, counter-press was not there because we didn't push up enough, which was difficult because we overplayed the midfield so early.
So, football still had nice situations, good set-pieces, all that stuff, that was there, but not really much more.
But the good thing is, if you don't play too well in the first half, it's easier to improve.
We improved, Trent's positioning was better, it was higher, immediately everything changed, so we had not five in the bag in our build-up, we had three, all these little things, so we were much more compact, could win the balls much more often back in counter-pressing situations, passed the ball better through, our positioning midfield was better, and then we brought Fabinho
