Speaking of something that needs to be bitten, Salesforce CEO Mark Benioff appears to be sort of walking back his recent comments in New York Times where he called for President Trump to send National Guard troops to San Francisco.

Benioff tried to clarify his remarks in a post on X saying safety is, quote, first and foremost, the responsibility of our society.

city and state leaders.

He also pointed out correctly that crime in San Francisco is down 30%.

Still, he told the Times that the city needs to refund the police, even though San Francisco never actually defunded its police force.

And it has been doing that.
