So we got talking about ways that we could help.
So we did a few Zoom calls back and forth and
And from that, we've built the most amazing team of the cardiologist there, a cardiologist in the Ghana.
And I've done paediatric work in a few different countries and there was no paediatric programme either in Ghana or Gambia in a month's time, thankfully, from this programme.
There's going to be a field study on potentially having a paediatric programme in Ghana where you will have four times a year a surgical programme going on there that can feed in from Gambia.
And all of this happened from two nurses having a conversation.
What we're hoping to do is actually.
bring over equipment, education, go into the community, train the community workers.
So this isn't about going over there and doing screening.
This is about going over there to help build a system, to help train the nurses, to help Alhaje and his team become trainers, to train the nurses and eventually to build links between hospitals here and hospitals there, that we can build a system and an infrastructure that actually helps to do
a cardio arena metabolic initially screening and education and empowerment.
But down the road, you can actually add in then you could do like an infrastructure of a health infrastructure.
So we've big dreams, but we have to start quite small.
And our team is quite amazing.
I'm really proud of what we've developed.
And I started with a platform to help do the screening that I was doing here.
And thanks to a program called We Build Through Tech Founders, which is supported by Enterprise Ireland and InterTrade and another one with the Data Innovation Hub.
That platform is now actually out in Africa being tested to help run this programme.
So the GoFundMe is to start off because we need to get funding for the African programme.
It's to start off to help Alhaji and his team to go out and to get funding for some of the equipment to start doing some of the screening.
